William C. Norris Institute
Mike Moore has more than 15 years experience evaluating and investing in technology-based start-up companies. He currently manages a seed-capital fund and directs the William C. Norris Institute at the Opus College of Business, University of St. Thomas. He also co-founded and directs the Early-Stage Investors Network, which facilitates discussion and interaction among angel investors in the Twin Cities and surrounding regions. He is a frequent speaker on entrepreneurship and innovation, visiting local schools as part of the BestPrep Classroom Plus program.
Prior to joining the Norris Institute in 1997, Moore was director of communications and marketing for the University of Minnesota Office of Research and Technology Transfer Administration. He assisted the University's Patents and Technology Marketing staff with evaluating the market potential for inventions and seeking licensees or investors to start companies.
In the 1980s Moore was a writer and editor for The Physician and Sportsmedicine medical journal, the International Diabetes Center, and the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center. He also started and operated Moore Images, a computer-generated presentation business, during this time.
Moore holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications from the University of Minnesota.
