Marc Usem is a hedge fund manager at Usem Bergstrand Capital Management, LLC in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The firm manages QuantOne Partners, LP, a hedge fund which began operations in 1999 and employs a quantitative market neutral investment strategy designed by the firm’s principals. In addition, Mr. Usem has been extensively involved in private equity transactions including the creative structuring of debt and equity investments in the software, telecom, healthcare, and real estate industries. Formerly, Marc was a vice president and senior publishing technology analyst in the equity research department at Salomon Smith Barney where he started the firm’s Internet industry coverage. Previously, Mr. Usem spent more than two years as an Equity Strategist at Salomon Brothers focusing on the development of broad stock market investment themes while concentrating on small-cap strategy and stock selection for the Firm's small-cap recommended portfolio. Mr. Usem joined Salomon Brothers in 1993. Mr. Usem received an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a BA in computer science, Magna Cum Laude, from Boston University.
