Originally from West Fargo, ND, Greg Tehven found himself at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. Ten days into his college career, he launched a vision with three friends to change the world. These four students worked to create a Pay It Forward Tour, a community service project on wheels. Irene Fernando, Brian Peterson, Nick Lindberg and Tehven created a non profit organization, Students Today Leaders Forever that has a national impact. Since its inception, STLF has sent out 102 Pay It Forward Tours with 3,965 participants serving over 2000 communities across the country performing a collective 48,190 hours of service. Students Today Leaders Forever won the first ever Minnesota Social Entrepreneurship Cup in 2008. In September, TIME Magazine listed STLF as the #2 way to Serve America in its piece on 21 Ways to Serve America.

Tehven’s role with STLF has been in growth and expansion. He has traveled the country speaking to high school, college and junior high students sharing his passion for service. Tehven serves on the Wisdom Council for Voluntourism.org, is the advisor of the Metro Student Council Ambassadors of Fargo Moorhead. In his two years of service, his students have led the Fill the Dome project collecting a total of 232,000 pounds of food and raising over $66,000 and appearing on Good Morning America each year. He also serves as a board member of the Metro Youth Partnership of Fargo Moorhead and North Minneapolis' V3 Youth Triathlon Team. His personal mission statement is simple: To challenge, inspire and encourage young people to live a life of excellence.
