Having held several positions in the Legislative and Executive branches of state government, Georgie joined the Minnesota Office of Energy Security in 2008 to work with key stakeholders on the development of clean energy commercial opportunities statewide. As part of that effort, she is collaborating with industry and academia to create and lead a Smart Grid Coalition focused on positioning Minnesota as a leader in the development and deployment of Smart Grid technologies, products and services.
Georgie represented Minnesota on the Midwestern Governors’ Association 2009 Chair’s Initiative, “Creating Jobs in the New Energy Economy Advisory Group”, and was recently appointed to the “Energy Workforce and Economic Development Collaborative”, the 2010 MGA Chair’s Initiative.
Appointed by Governor Pawlenty in 2003 to represent District 11 on the Metropolitan Council, Georgie represents thirteen communities in Ramsey, Washington, and Anoka Counties and serves on the Transportation and Community Development Committees.
